About Leo Fintech Advisors

Small enough to know your name. Experienced enough to take care of what matters.

Our story

Started in a Tempe living room, in 2016.

Leo Fintech Advisors was founded by Karen Jean Derusha after fifteen years inside the wirehouse world. Karen had grown tired of watching good clients sold products they didn't need — and decided to build the kind of firm she always wished she could refer her friends to.

Today we're a small, deliberate practice based at 203 E Julie Dr in Tempe, Arizona. We keep our client roster intentionally limited so every household actually gets the attention we promise them.

We're not the loudest firm in the Valley. We aim to be the most useful one.

What we believe

Five principles that shape every engagement.

1

Fiduciary first

Your interests come ahead of ours. We document that in every engagement letter.

2

Plain English

If you can't explain your plan to your spouse over dinner, the plan isn't finished.

3

Transparent pricing

Flat fees, posted in writing. No revenue-sharing, no kickbacks, no surprises.

4

Local & personal

Our clients can walk in, call our cell, or email and reach a real person — usually within hours.

5

Long-term mindset

We design plans for decades, not for quarterly statements or market headlines.

6

Coordinated care

We work directly with your CPA, attorney, and lender so nothing falls between the cracks.

Our team

Real people, accessible by phone.

Small team. Long tenures. Each of us answers our own phone.

Community

Rooted in the Valley.

We sponsor financial-literacy workshops at the Tempe Public Library, mentor first-generation business owners through the local chamber, and donate 1% of annual revenue to Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation.

If you're a Tempe-based nonprofit looking for pro-bono financial coaching for your staff, write to us. We reserve four spots each year.
